Lee Roy Selmon blends the advantages of a scholarship to football in his home with community service. His family's first name is he's the youngest out of nine kids who were raised within Eufala with Lucious Selmon. Two football. He is one of three brothers who participated in the football team of Oklahoma. All three of them were All-Americans. Lucious Jr. Dewey was one of the starters for the entire 1973 season. Lee Roy is the winner of both Outland Awards as well as Lombardi Awards. He was the best lineman in the entire nation. For the three seasons that Roy played as a player, Oklahoma won two National Championships. Selmon was an National Football Foundation Scholarship-Athlete, Selmon received an award for his third year in the year 1975. Selmon holds a bachelor's degree in educational studies. Fourth service In college Lee Roy devoted ten hours per week to volunteer projects. Following college, he relocated to Tampa and played for nine years with the Buccaneers. He was an All-Pro for three occasions. He then began his career. He was hired in 1988 as an Account Relations officer for Tampa's First Florida Bank. He was also a part of the following groups: Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. In 1982, the Junior Chamber of Commerce honored his name in 1982, as among the top 10 youngsters in the US. Lee Roy weighed 256 lbs and was a tall of 6-2. In his time at for college, he was the head coach of the 1975 team. He was promoted to the athletic director's assistant at University of South Florida. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1988, and the GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame in 1994 the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1995. Parents, Lucious and Mary Selmon Jr. received the Distinguished American Award in 1989 from the Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation. Henry Bellmon is the Oklahoma governor who made this presentation.
