Lucy-Liu

Lucy Liu is an American director, actress, and a singer. A beautiful and smart actor, she is an example to numerous Asian actors that want to make it big in Hollywood. After appearing in a number of episodes in popular TV shows, she became famous when she was a part of The Ally McBeal legal comedy where she played Ling Woo. Her new-found fame was translated to roles on the big screen in Shanghai Noon, Charlie's Angels and other films. She then delivered a superlative performance as Japanese crime lord, O-RenIshii In Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill Volume 1. Around the same time she was playing major part in several other box office failures including Rise: Blood Hunter. She then began to voice characters from animated movies like Kung Fu Panda or Tinker Bell. Mia Mason, in Cashmere Mafia and other small screen roles failed to bring her any success. The role she played in the critically-acclaimed police drama series Southland has helped her reestablish herself as an actress of note. Liu is extremely cautious when making her choices so that she does not become typecast within a highly competitive industry. Even though she's accepted her heritage, she hasn't permitted it to hinder her as an artist.
