
Pichai Sundararajan, better known as Sundar Picha is an Indian-American business executive. He is the chief executive officer (CEO), of Alphabet Inc.'s subsidiary Google. Born in Madurai, India.[4] Pichai graduated from IIT Kharagpur with a degree in metallurgical engineering. He earned an M.S. in the United States after relocating to the United States. from Stanford University in materials science and engineering . He then earned an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and was awarded the Siebel Scholar and an Palmer Scholar, respectively.Pchai began his career as a material engineer. After a brief period at the management consulting firm McKinsey & Co., Pichai joined Google in 2004, where he managed the product management as well as innovations for a range of Google's client software products that included Google Chrome and ChromeOS in addition to being the primary person responsible for Google Drive. Pichai also supervised the development of Google Maps, Gmail, as well as other applications. Pichai announced in the year 2010 that Google had made the codec for video VP8 open source and introduced WebM which is a brand new video format. The Chromebook came out in 2012. Pichai also included Android to the Google products he was managing in 2013.
